Hi, I'm Kaley - the founder and owner of ERA Luxury Body Care. ERA is a small, faith-based artisan business based in North Texas. We are proud to offer a large range of luxury, natural body products that are free of the many toxic ingredients found in mass-produced products.

I founded this company after struggling with mental health for many years. Reaching my lowest point in postpartum depression, I came to a realization that it was absolutely imperative for me to take better care of my mind and body. Of course, this did not happen overnight and was not solely focused on the body care products I was using. I did, however, finally discern that there was a direct connection between what I put in and on my body, what I allowed into my mind, and how I felt and how I showed up - as a mother, a wife, friend, etc. 

This led to a massive "purging" - decluttering my home of what no longer served me, having strong boundaries as to what media I allowed in my home and in my mind, doing deep inner work in therapy, reassessing relationships that did not align with my higher self, and focusing on nourishing my body through quality nutrition, and - you guessed it - quality products to nourish my outer body. 

In my search for a better self-care routine and products, I dove into research on how to read/interpret ingredients lists and was astounded to find that name brand, overpriced products were selling us cheap filler ingredients that are toxic to our bodies. And we buy it without even checking or questioning it, assuming they'd have our best interest in mind. Crazy, right?

It was around this time that my husband decided to start using artisan bar soaps, which I'd honestly never even heard of. I just thought body wash was "soap". This led to my next rabbit-hole of research, to find that "body wash" was just a conglomerate of synthetic detergents that strip our skin of its natural oils, causing irritation and exacerbating issues like eczema. Basically, excessively dry our skin out so we have to rely on their moisturizers with toxic ingredients to replace our natural oils!  So, we made the switch to natural bar soap. It came with a problem though - all of the bars we tried "melted" so quickly in the shower, so we had to replace them way too often. 

I knew with the right research and ingredients I could create a product that was longer lasting, while being natural and non-stripping to our skin. Again, I set out on my rabbit-hole of research, learning how each ingredient behaved in soap, the properties it gave to the final bar, and learning how to formulate my own recipes to obtain the exact properties I was looking for in a bar of soap. 

My first two products I learned how to formulate and create were soap and body butter which is what I first offered when I started my business. Soon thereafter I expanded my expertise into scrubs, lip butter, candles and more.

Throughout this whole journey, my entire mission has been to create high-quality, long lasting products that give more value than what they cost. All while being natural and good for our bodies and the earth. I would never sell a product that I personally wouldn't feel amazing about using on my own body. Having very sensitive skin myself and being a very picky consumer, you can rest assure that when you purchase from ERA, you will be purchasing the best quality that you can find, and that it will be suitable for even very sensitive skin (even on babies - I use my products on my little girl and her skin has stayed very healthy as a result!).

Our overarching mission is to serve God and our community. We achieve this by regularly donating hygiene products (both our handmade products and other items) to local homeless population and women's shelters. When you support ERA Body Care, you are also supporting the gift of self-care to others in need.
